Namaskar my dear colleagues and friends!

It is an honour to announce that the 30th Annual Conference of Oculoplastics Association of India (OPAIC 2019) is going to be held in Guwahati, Assam organised by Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya from the 6th to 8th of September, 2019.

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to the land of the most luxurious silk and the most delicious tea. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the heart of North East. Welcome to Guwahati. This is a land of spiritual heritage - it houses the most revered temple of Maa Kamakhya. Nestled in the midst of rolling hills and evergreen forests, Guwahati forms the gateway to the entire north eastern part of India and comprises India’s one of the most exotic tourist destinations.

In the last two decades, Ophthalmic plastic surgery has made quantum leaps in Indian ophthalmology. The Oculopastics Association of India (OPAI) is an elite organisation of skilled oculoplastic surgeons who are committed to the art and science of Oculoplasty. OPAIC, 'The International conference of OPAI’ held annually is an excellent platform for our ophthalmologists to exchange the newest development and research ventures associated with this field.

OPAIC 2019, seeks to achieve an excellent academic interaction among the leading experts, researchers, colleagues and key industry partners and celebrate the ever emerging field of Orbit, Oculoplasty, Oculofacial Aesthetics, Ocular Oncology, Lacrimal etc. It surely will be a platform for enhancementof networks and bonds beyond barriers.

With this, I, on behalf of the entire organising committee, extend my heartiest welcome to you all to the 30th Annual Conference of the Oculoplastic Association of India at Guwahati. This conference will be a platform for intermingling of ideas amongst the avant-garde faculties of Oculoplasty and we look forward to your active participation over the next few days. I hope all of us use this as an opportunity to learn, teach, discuss, and of course make some wonderful memories. I hope you get a chance to re-connect with your old friends, and also get a chance to make some new ones.
